Join the Rodes family and EAA 511 for a pancake breakfast fly-in at Bear River Field (VG54), weather-permitting, on Saturday, April 8, 2023. We plan to have breakfast available from 8:00 to 10:30. All are welcome, the cooks would appreciate an RSVP to help with their planning. Alternate weather date will be April 15.

Sadly I woosed out. Up all night watching wind models and figuring out what the truth really was. Direct crosswind (at limits) for me to return home around noon KFCI. Apple weather app shows gusts to 24 mph. ForeFlight showing just 10 kts direct cross. Windy.app which I'm still learning, showing who knows what. With my limited tailwheel experience much less in crosswinds and other circumstances it pains me to have to ground myself.

I'm watching FlightRadar24 and the traffic going in. Serious FOMO going on.

I'm still trying to learn this app "Windy.app" - does this mean 12G18? This is at KRIC which is the nearest "real" airport to me at KFCI.

For me it was the right decision 11G26 here direct crosswind and mess of gusty weather. Oh well.
